Budget is a key factor when buying packaging. When it comes to decision, customers would take some points in consideration. They includes 

I would give a brief first, price can be a few pennies to dollars, which depends size/pattern/printing/MOQ/service.

1. Size.

Size is important in calculating price. Larger box costs more than smaller box. Let's take 4*4*2 inch box and 2*2*2 inch for comparison. one 4*4*2 inch box is 4 times the 2*2*2 inch, but price for 4*4*2 inch box may be 5 times than 2*2*2, because it needs more material and generates more leftover.

2. Pattern

There are thousands and millions of patterns in this industry and customers can pick some according to budget and design. Some complext paper patterns are expensive.

3. Printing

There are certain printing to choose from including spot UV/hot foil/embossinig/debossing. This part is charged by area. Smaller area charges less, but you will not regret if you choose these 4, it will create good looking and will deliver brand value better.

4. MOQ

As it is known to all, lower MOQ is good for short-run buyers, but price would be higher. 

5. Service/delivery time

Good pre-sale serve and delivery time is also important for buyers. Customers would prefer 2-7 days delivery time for stock paper packagings. If customize items, I think 10-15 days is reasonable after design is confirmed.
